Q1: Is it better to wear a soft cup
bra or an underwired bra ?
A : Whatever
your size, underwired bras are the best for shape, support and lift : soft cup bras tend
to push you down a little bit under the arm, particularly if you have a larger bust. For
smaller busts, an underwire boosts your bustline, giving a better profile and shape, while
for larger busts, the underwire is more supportive because youre getting support
from the wire as well as the straps. The other advantage of underwired bras is that even
with delicate fabrics like lace you can still get good support and separation.
However, you should never wear an underwired bra when pregnant. This is
because you expand under the bust and at the side where the wire lies and sooner or later
it will start to dig into you. A specialist, supportive soft cup bra is recommended.
Q2. Should I wear a corset ?
A: Corsets are
designed to help the muscles in holding back the abdominal organs, pulling the
tummy in and the seat down, and so keeping a healthy condition and
at the time giving a good appearance.
Child bearing, illness, surgical operations, and just bad habits of
letting the body sag can all cause the abdominal muscles weaken. But correctly
chosen corsetrie can give the support which the flabby muscles can no longer provide and
prevent further damage from being done.
Remember though, that the purpose of corsets is not to restrict and not
to prevent free movement of muscles or limbs; but to give support where needed and to
enhance the work of the natural muscles.
Q3: I have difficulty finding a good
fitting bra because one of my breasts is larger than the other. What can I do ?
A: This is a very
usual phenomenon although in many cases the difference between the breasts is not
noticeable. You can try fabrics, such as our microfibres, which have more elasticity and
are therefore more accomodating. Adjusting one of the straps, so that the strap of the
larger bust is looser, will also help.
Q4: I need a corset which is tighter on my
waist and thighs. What should I do?
A: The solution is
not to get a smaller size corset but to get one which has a higher control factor and
offers you more support at your correct size.
